What Are CEREC Same-Day Dental Crowns?

CEREC same-day dental crowns are those created in a single appointment using advanced dental technology and an in-house milling unit. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. Using digital impressions to capture a 3D model of your smile, we use specialized CAD/CAM software to design the new crown using the enhanced image. We then send the altered restoration specifications to an in-house milling unit to create a same-day dental crown.
The Process of Getting CEREC Same-Day Dental Crowns

This multi-step process requires that we start by preparing the broken tooth. We will need to clean out the decayed areas after administering local anesthesia. We’ll then file down the tooth so that the custom restoration can fit properly in place. Once complete, we’ll take digital impressions using our CEREC system. This creates a 3D image of your smile, allowing our team to design the custom crown that is required to protect your damaged or decayed tooth.
We’ll make sure the size, shape, and color match your existing smile so that it blends in seamlessly once put in place. After completing the design of the crown, we’ll send it to the in-house milling unit so that the customized restoration can be crafted while you wait.
Once it is ready, we will give it a final polish before securing it over the affected tooth, delivering optimal protection and support so that you can use your teeth normally as well as enjoy a beautiful, healthy smile.
Benefits of CEREC Vs. Traditional Crowns

Not every dental office provides CEREC same-day dental crowns, so the fact that our team makes it an integral part of our restorative offerings is special. By choosing to receive one of these crowns as opposed to a traditional one, you will enjoy the following benefits:
- A solution that does not require multiple dental appointments. Instead, you only need to visit our office once to receive your new crown.
- A restoration that delivers the same level of protection and functionality as a traditional crown.
- A method of treatment that doesn’t require that you wear a temporary crown between appointments – a component that can lead to reinfection if bad bacteria forms during this time.
- A dental crown that looks beautiful and mimics the natural aesthetics of your smile.
- A solution that can be integrated with root canal treatment or dental implant placement.
